What story is evolving in your life right now? Are you getting married? Coming up on a milestone like a graduation, an anniversary, paying off the mortgage or retirement? Is there a baby on the way? Are you preparing to say good-bye to a loved one?
Whatever it is, let me help you create and perform a ceremony that is custom made for you and your occasion. As a certified Celebrant, I assure you that your ceremony will reflect you and your family and your belief system – nothing will be imposed upon you.
What is a celebrant? In short, a celebrant is a ceremony expert. A celebrant is someone who listens to you and then takes that information and crafts a ceremony that is just “you”. A celebrant gets the fact that your story may not fit into some cookie cutter ceremony that the rest of the world is forced to fit into. A celebrant lets you have the final say on what works for you and what doesn’t.
You may not have thought about it, but you and your family probably already have your own distinctive traditions and rituals. Is Aunt Dolly’s the place you gather every year for a specific occasion? Is there a family heirloom that has passed down through the ages and now sits at the threshold of a new era of history? Do you have a favorite hobby or pastime that relaxes and centers you? I’ve been trained to help you identify these and other elements of your life for what they really are: traditions and rituals.
Together we will sit down and uncover these elements so that when the day comes for your wedding, your baby blessing, your retirement, your memorial service – whatever the occasion, it will be your story. Not anyone else’s – yours! Your ceremony will be an expression of your heart and soul.
I will help you find the music, readings, rituals and language, that reflect who you are. I will then create your ceremony with all this in mind and revise it with you until it meets your final approval. And then after the event is said and done, I will present you with a beautiful keepsake copy of your ceremony. You and your loved ones will cherish this ceremony for years to come.
Maya Angelou once said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
Let me give you the chance to express yourself like you really are. Let me tell your story that is “waiting to be told”.
